This is the simplest thing in the world to compose, not even a recipe really, but marinated tomato salad is absolutely delicious. It even works with winter tomatoes, though it absolutely shines with stellar summer ones.
All you basically do is dress thick sliced or quartered tomatoes with your favorite salad dressing, turning them from time to time to ensure that all sides come into contact with the dressing. I leave them to marinate - at room temperature - for a couple of hours. and then toss in a liberal amount of roughly chopped herbs. Basil works, as does oregano, In this case I used shiso.
Toss well before serving and serve with a slotted spoon to remove excess dressing.
Totally yummy.
